Kuljetusliike Vaahterinen is developing and researching a raw material composed of agricultural plastic waste for new waste plastic or plastic composite products in cooperation with the Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
Until now, agricultural plastic has not been utilised much in new materials and it has mainly ended up in incineration. The aim is to bring new materials and products to the market in 2027.
Testing will be carried out in Karelia’s premises in Joensuu and productisation in the company’s plastic product factory in Varkaus.
