The seven-year "Circwaste - Towards a circular economy" project is coming to an end at the end of the year. The project has been implemented between 2016 and 2023. The goal has been to pilot Finland towards a circular economy and implement a national waste plan. Circwaste is the creation of 20 partners and 10 co-financers, with the Finnish Environment Agency acting as the coordinator. The project has received a large part of its funding from the LIFE program of the European Commission.

The results of seven years of work

Almost 20 pilot projects have been implemented in the Circwaste project, which have produced concrete results, for example, in relation to the development of recycling parks and new recycling functions, the reuse of plastic fractions, the development of surplus food distribution, the production of biogas, intelligent management systems and the creation of industrial symbioses.

In the final seminar, the most impressive results of the Circwaste project will be gathered together and interesting expert speeches will be presented regarding the latest research and development results of promoting the circular economy. In addition, there will be examples from international speakers.

Come to the final project event with us in Helsinki

The results of the Circwaste project will be presented at the final seminar of the project on October 26 and 27 in Hietalahti, Helsinki, in the conference room of the Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel. Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel is located in the former Valio cheese warehouse building, which was designed by architect Maunu Siitonen in 1939, so it is quite suitable as the location for the final seminar of the project that promoted the circular economy. The building is considered a landmark of the industrial architecture of the functionalism era.

Come and hear what has been achieved in the Circwaste project in the last seven years and what has been started in the field of circular economy. At the event, you will be able to network with other experts and experts in the circular economy field.
